In Taekwondo, belt colors indicate the level of training (rank) . The belt system acts as an incentive for the student to advance to the next level of training. Belt requirements vary between Taekwondo, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, and other forms of martial arts. Standards also vary from school to school.
